They say no one is a prophet in their own land—but sometimes, a company’s journey proves otherwise. At OA Cloud, our story has been written on a global keyboard: we manage more than a hundred media outlets across Spain and became the first company in the world to win AWS Game On at a global level. Yet something was missing: bringing that knowledge back home, to Andalusia.
This year, that gap has been filled. We’ve returned to the south so that journalism in our region doesn’t just compete—but helps define the rules of the digital era.
The Seville-Cádiz axis: a shared DNA
Our identity is deeply connected to Cádiz, but our vision is entirely Andalusian. That’s why welcoming some of the region’s leading media outlets is a source of pride that goes far beyond business.
The arrival of Mucho Deporte—Seville’s benchmark for sports journalism—alongside the passion of El Territorio Cadista and the editorial strength of La Voz del Sur in Jerez, marks the beginning of a new chapter. We are combining the editorial talent of both provinces with engineering capabilities that, until recently, were only available to major global tech players.
La Voz del Sur: setting the standard for innovation
The recent transformation of La Voz del Sur perfectly reflects this new phase. This wasn’t just a visual redesign—it was a full-scale reengineering project. Under the technical leadership of our CTO, Eric Orwall, we migrated the platform to Amazon Web Services (AWS), removing every bottleneck along the way.
The result? A media outlet capable of handling massive traffic spikes with complete stability and minimal latency. News now moves as fast as it happens.
Generative AI with an editorial purpose
In this new Andalusian chapter, artificial intelligence is one of our greatest allies—but always with a human-centered approach. At Mucho Deporte, La Voz del Sur, and El Territorio Cadista, AI doesn’t replace journalists; it empowers them.
As I’ve said many times before, technology should be “invisible.” We build tools that automate repetitive tasks so reporters in Seville, Cádiz, and Jerez can focus on what truly matters: analysis, opinion, and breaking stories. Our goal is frictionless navigation for users and maximum operational efficiency for publishers.
A global benchmark with a local accent
Through OA Cloud, we’re proving that it’s possible to lead global technology while staying close to your roots. Competing—and winning—against some of the best engineers in the world gave us the confidence to come back and say: “We’re here, and your media outlet can fly higher than ever.”
Mucho Deporte, La Voz del Sur, and El Territorio Cadista are only the beginning of a growing list of Andalusian media organizations choosing local technological DNA to power their future. Because to lead globally, you first need strong foundations at home.
Being a prophet in your own land may be the greatest challenge—but it’s also the most rewarding one. At OA Cloud, we’re proud that code recognized around the world is now helping drive the future of journalism in Seville and Cádiz.
